Gas bill charges explained

  • Unit rate per kWh of gas used
  • Daily standing charge for the supply point
  • Climate Change Levy on gas supplied to business premises
  • VAT, usually 20% (5% for low usage or qualifying premises)

  • Your MPRN, shown on your gas bill
  • Whether your meter reads in cubic metres or cubic feet
  • Your annual quantity (AQ) estimate
  • Contract end date and switching window
